6- Answer: Yes, you can. In the current application conditions, only TOEFL IBT is accepted.

8- Answer: Yes, there is. At least 50 points from GSU FBE English Placement Exam, at least 50 points from YDS/YÖKDİL (English), at least 59 points from TOEFL (internet-based).
9- Question: I graduated from an English-medium university in Turkey, do I need to bring TOEFL or KPDS/YÖKDİL/YDS?
9- Answer: Yes, you need to bring the document(s) specified in the current application conditions.
10- Question: Can I apply without my Foreign Language Proficiency exam result?
10- Answer: For Master's and Doctorate Programs with thesis, you must bring your Foreign Language Proficiency exam certificate in accordance with the criteria of our Institute. For non-thesis master's programs, you can take the English Proficiency Exam to be held by our Graduate School.
11- Question: Can I do a master's degree at your university while doing a master's degree at another university?
11- Answer: According to the framework regulation of YÖK, except for non-thesis master's programs, you cannot enroll and continue more than one graduate program at the same time.
12- Question: How many years are foreign language exams such as YDS, YÖKDİL, KPDS, TOEFL, IELTS etc. valid?
12- Answer: YDS/YÖKDİL/KPDS: If a validity date is not specified on it, the relevant document must have been taken at most 5 years before the application date).
TOEFL: The relevant document must have been taken at most 2 years before the application date.
13- Question: How many years is ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Examination) valid?
13- Answer: The validity period of ALES exam is 3 years.
14- Question: How many preferences do we have in the application?
14- Answer: You can choose 3 programs in the application.
15- Question: After completing my online application, do I need to print it out and submit it to the Graduate School?
15- Answer: If you complete the application process by entering the necessary information through the Student Automation System and uploading the documents required for pre-registration to the system, you do not need to come to the Institute until the announced exam dates.
16- Question: What should I do after completing the application?
16- Answer: After completing your online application, you are required to attend the written and oral exams, if any, for the program(s) you have applied for.
17- Question: Do I need to submit the original or a copy of any document to the Institute within the "application period"?
17- Answer: It is sufficient to scan and upload the requested documents to the system to complete the pre-registration process.
18- Question: How can I find the time and place for the written and oral exam dates?

19- Question: Since I am a senior, I will not have my last semester transcript at the time of application. Will this pose a problem?
19- Answer: Until the end of the application dates announced by our Institute for the relevant academic year, you can sign a waiver to bring it in full, and you can apply even if you have missing documents such as transcripts. However, if you do not scan and upload all the required documents to the system until the end of the application deadlines, your pre-registration process will be canceled as stated in the waiver.
20- Question: Do you accept applications in the spring semester?
20- Answer: Unless any changes are made to the Master's Programs with Thesis, students are not accepted in the spring semester.

22- Answer: As an undergraduate graduate, you can apply to the PhD program if you meet the relevant application requirements on the website of our Institute (http://fbe.gsu.edu.tr).
II- Questions Related to Master's Degree with Thesis
1- Question: How is the success score calculated for admission to master's programs with thesis?
1- Answer: In master's programs with thesis, it is calculated by taking 50% of the score obtained from ALES, 20% of the undergraduate grade point average converted to the hundredth system and 30% of the success evaluation of the score obtained in the oral science exam over one hundred full points.
2- Question: What is the Scientific Preparatory Program?
2- Answer: The Scientific Preparatory Program is specified in Article 30 of YÖK's Graduate Education Regulations.
Student admission to the scientific preparation program
ARTICLE 30 - (1) Among the students admitted to master's and doctoral programs, a scientific preparatory program may be applied for those who have received their bachelor's or master's degree in fields different from the master's or doctoral program to which they are admitted, and for master's or doctoral program candidates who have received their bachelor's or master's degree from higher education institutions other than the higher education institution to which they are admitted.
(2) The courses required to be taken in the scientific preparation program cannot replace the courses required to complete the relevant graduate program. However, a student in the scientific preparatory program may also take courses for the graduate program in addition to the scientific preparatory courses upon the recommendation of the relevant institute department/division head and the approval of the institute board of directors.
(3) Attendance, course exams, course grades, conditions to be considered successful in courses, course repetition, deregistration and other principles related to the scientific preparation program are determined by the regulation adopted by the senate.
(4) The maximum duration of the scientific preparation program is two semesters. Summer education is not included in this period. This period cannot be extended except for semester leaves and the student who is not successful at the end of this period is dismissed. The time spent in this program is not included in the duration of the master's or doctoral program.
3- Question: What is the Directed Research course?
3- Answer: It is a compulsory course that aims to provide students with the maturity to conduct scientific research before starting their master's thesis or, if they are doctoral students, to gain the ability to write a research paper before taking the doctoral qualifying exam.
4- Question: What is the duration of master's programs with thesis?
4- Answer: The duration of the master's program with thesis is specified below in Article 7 of the Regulation of Higher Education Council's Graduate Education Framework Regulation.
Duration
ARTICLE 7 - (1) The duration of the master's program with thesis is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program in which he / she is enrolled, regardless of whether he / she registers for each semester , except for the period spent in scientific preparation, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters.
5- Question: What is the requirement to enter the Master's thesis defense?

7- Answer: The student, who is successful in the thesis defense and meets the other conditions of the thesis, submits a sufficient number of bound copies of the master's thesis determined by the Institute within one month from the date of entry to the thesis defense by having the jury members sign. The student whose thesis is approved in terms of form is awarded a Master's degree by the decision of the Institute Board of Directors.
III- Questions Related to Non-Thesis Master's Degree
1- Question: Is there an ALES requirement for application to non-thesis Master's Programs?
1- Answer: ALES is not required for Non-Thesis Master's Programs.
2- Question: Will those who apply to non-thesis master's programs (second education) also have an interview?
2- Answer: Yes, they are required to take an interview.
3- Question: How is the success score calculated for admission to non-thesis master's programs?
3- Answer: In non-thesis master's programs, it is calculated by taking 40% of the undergraduate grade point average converted to the hundred point system and 60% of the success evaluation of the interview grade over one hundred full points.
4- Question: What is the duration of non-thesis master's programs?
4- Answer: The completion period of non-thesis master's programs is at least two semesters and at most three semesters, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester.
5- Question: What are the requirements to graduate from a non-thesis master's program?
5- Answer: In order to graduate from the non-thesis master's program, it is necessary to pass at least ten courses and a term project with a total of not less than 60 ECTS.
IV- PhD Related Questions
1- Question: How is the success score calculated for admission to doctoral programs?
1- Answer: In doctoral programs, the success grade is calculated by taking 50% of the score obtained from ALES, 10% of the undergraduate grade point average converted to the hundred point system, 10% of the thesis master's grade point average converted to the hundred point system (20% of the undergraduate grade point average for candidates applying to doctoral programs with a bachelor's degree) and 30% of the success evaluation of the exam jury out of one hundred full points.
2- Question: What is the requirement to take the doctoral qualifying exam?
2- Answer: For students admitted to the doctoral program with a master's degree with thesis, it is required to have passed at least seven courses with a weighted grade point average of at least 3.00, provided that a total of twenty-one credits and an education period is not less than 60 ECTS.
3- Question: What is the requirement to take the doctoral thesis defense exam?
3- Answer: In order for the doctoral thesis defense to be held, at least three thesis monitoring committee reports must be submitted to the Graduate School before the presentation date and must be found sufficient.
4- Question: What is the duration of doctoral programs?
4- Answer: The PhD Program is eight semesters and the maximum completion period is twelve semesters for those who are accepted with a master's degree with thesis, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in are given, regardless of whether they register for each semester, except for the period spent in scientific preparation; For those accepted with a bachelor's degree, it is ten semesters and the maximum completion period is fourteen semesters.
5- Question: How many people does the doctoral thesis jury consist of?
5- Answer: The doctoral thesis jury consists of five faculty members, including the advisor, three of whom are members of the thesis monitoring committee and at least two of whom are from outside their own higher education institution. In addition, the second thesis advisor can take part in the jury without the right to vote.
6- Question: What are the requirements to graduate from the PhD program?

3- Question: Who is responsible for the Add/Drop process and advisor approvals for students who are not assigned an advisor?
3- Answer: The Graduate School Executive Board, with the recommendation of the relevant department head, determines a faculty member of that department as the program coordinator at the beginning of the academic year for students enrolled in graduate education. The program coordinator carries out the enrollment procedures of the students until the advisor is appointed.
4- Question: When are graduate students' advisors assigned?
4- Answer: The thesis advisor is appointed until the end of the first semester at the latest.
5- Question: How many ECTS courses can a student choose in a semester?
5- Answer: There is a minimum of 30 ECTS credit courses that students can take each semester.
6- Question: How many courses can a student take from different departments/different universities/different institutes?

8- Question: I could not take the exam, I have a medical report, is it enough for me to take the exam?
8- Answer: If the lecturer accepts the health report, you can take the exam on the date determined by the lecturer.
9- Question: What must be the minimum letter grade for a student to be considered successful in the course?
9- Answer: In order to be successful in the course, the letter grade must be at least CC or P.
10- Question: I want my exam paper to be re-examined, what should I do?
10- Answer: You must submit a petition to the Graduate School within 3 days from the date the exam grade is announced.
11- Question: Can the student take the failed course again?

3- Question: How much is the tuition fee for doctoral programs?
3- Answer: At the beginning of each academic year, the contribution amounts determined in the decree law published in the Official Gazette are announced on the Institute's web page.
4- Question: I paid my semester/semester tuition, but I did not register for the course, what should I do?
4- Answer: If you did not register for your courses on the specified dates, you can register for your courses during the excuse registrations.
5- Question: I did not take a course this semester/semester, but I paid my semester/semester tuition. Can I get a student certificate?
5- Answer: Yes, you can.
6- Question: I could not pay my tuition fee on the specified dates, can I get a student certificate / can I continue the courses?

VII- Questions about Military Service

VIII- Questions Regarding Graduation Procedures
1- Question: How does the thesis defense process start?
1- Answer: At the end of the semester, after the delivery of the white binders to the Graduate School Student Affairs by the student, the theses are sent to the jury members after the appointment of the Thesis Examination Jury proposed by the relevant Department by the Graduate School Administrative Board and the thesis defense is held on the determined exam date.
2- Question: How does the process work after the thesis writing is completed?
2- Answer: At the end of the semester, after the submission of the white binders to the Institute Student Affairs by the student, the theses are sent to the jury members and the thesis defense is held on the determined exam date after the Thesis Examination Jury proposed by the relevant Department is assigned by the Institute Administrative Board. If the student is successful as a result of the thesis defense, the student is obliged to submit the necessary documents for graduation to the Institute Student Affairs within one (1) month together with three (3) hard bound theses.
3- Question: What should be considered in the final check?
3- Answer: When submitting the hard bound theses and the documents required for graduation, it is necessary to make sure that the theses comply with the "Thesis Writing Guide" on the web page and that the necessary documents are submitted to the Graduate School Student Affairs.
4- Question: What should be considered when checking the CD and what should be included in the CD content?

5- Question: What should I do after all the checks have been completed?
5- Answer: After the hard bound theses and the documents required for graduation are submitted to the Graduate School Student Affairs, the theses and documents are checked by the Graduate School Student Affairs for compliance. As a result of the checks, the student is obliged to make the corrections requested by the student, if any. If there is nothing to be corrected or after the student has completed the necessary corrections, the theses are evaluated by the Graduate School Executive Board together with the documents required for graduation and a graduation decision is made about the student. After this stage, the student can only receive the signed and sealed "Provisional Graduation Certificate" prepared by the Graduate School.
6- Question: I have submitted my thesis but I have not graduated yet. Can I get a student certificate?
6- Answer: After the student submits his/her thesis, he/she can request and receive a student certificate until the beginning of the next semester until graduation. With the start of the new semester, since they do not renew their registration, their student rights are terminated and they cannot request a student certificate.
IX- Questions about Special Students
1- Question: I want to be a "Special Student", how can I apply?
1- Answer: In order to apply as a "Special Student", it is necessary to meet the requirements for pre-registration to the relevant program before the semester starts and to apply by submitting the documents showing that they meet these requirements to the Institute.

2- Answer: Those who take courses as special students must pay the course-credit fee determined by the Institute Board of Directors.

3- Answer: Although there is no limit to the number of courses that can be taken as a special student, if special students are admitted to graduate programs as regular students in the following semesters, a maximum of two of the graduate courses they have succeeded as a special student can be considered valid for the graduate program that the student is continuing with the recommendation of the program coordinator, the positive opinion of the head of the department and the decision of the Graduate School Executive Board.

4- Question: I have frozen my registration, can I get a student certificate?
4- Answer: You cannot get a student certificate as long as your enrollment is frozen.
